Equal access to your venue. Measured, equalized, and evidenced across the whole campus.

McKay Equalized Access is the access layer between latency-sensitive resources and the market participants who rely on them. Equalization-as-a-service for exchanges and ATS venues: digital or physical, continuously measured, observable in real time, and priced like the spools it replaces.

What it equalizes

  • Matching engines

Order entry in. Execution reports out. Every participant's order flow crosses the boundary on an equal basis.

  • Market data gateways

Market data out. Every participant sees book changes and trades at the same moment.

  • Antennas and the roof

Wireless handoffs held to the same boundary as the fiber.

  • Cross connects

Any circuit, any building, turned up remotely into the equalized set.

What venues are up against in colocation

Participants expect fairness they can measure. Regulators expect evidence of fair, equal, and unmanipulated access, not assurances: controls and measurements that demonstrate oversight and auditability.

The traditional answer is equidistant fiber. Spools are expensive, slow to change, difficult to measure once installed, and often susceptible to manipulation.

Data centers run out of space and power, so new buildings join the campus. Each one forces a rebuild of the equalization ring, and the building and the participants in it are out of reach until the spools are ripped out and replaced.

Many venues stopgap the problem with manual audits, rip and replace, inaccurate OTDR readings of their spools, or ignore it entirely.

No more. McKay Equalized Access is the repeatable, continuous, campus-wide alternative.

What Equalized Access does

One service, six functions, operated by the team that already runs high precision transport and connectivity for the most demanding market participants.

Equalization

Every participant's path to the resource is brought to the same delay. No spools required. No rebuild when a new building joins the campus. Hollow core fiber to the far buildings is optional and lowers latency for everyone.

Continuous measurement

Every equalized path is measured continuously at sub-nanosecond resolution, against one campus time domain held within a nanosecond by Quincy Precision Time Exchange. Drift and anomalies are detected as they happen, not at the next audit.

Optional data capture

A mirrored copy of every participant's traffic at the boundary, without the optical taps that degrade signal quality.

Compliance evidence

Immutable logs of every measurement and full traceability of every configuration change, kept to prove fairness over time and to evidence compliance with your rules, policies, and procedures.

Policy enforcement

Real-time detection and prevention of fiber tampering, port flooding, and other behavior that would move a participant off the boundary.

Insight

Dashboards and analytics for monitoring, equalization, and compliance. Exposed to your participants and your regulator at your option.

Both directions. Every medium.

The same boundary equalizes order entry into your matching engine and market data out of it. Wireless handoffs at the roof are held to the same boundary as the fiber below it. One onboarding for your venue, one boundary for every participant, and the same evidence for all of it.

Digital equalization, campus-wide

Equal access means every participant reaches the resource at the same moment, wherever their cabinet sits. Spooled fiber gets there by padding the short paths to match the longest one, and by rebuilding the spools when the campus changes.

McKay Equalized Access gets there digitally. Every path is measured and the delivery is timed so that every cabinet is on the same boundary. When a building connects, the boundary is solved again around the new furthest point. Equalization is digital. No spools, and no rebuild when the campus grows.

Hollow core fiber is optional. Light moves through it roughly 1.5 times faster than through solid core, so running it to the far buildings lowers latency for the whole equalized set while the campus keeps growing. Equal either way. Faster with hollow core.

Built for Secaucus today, and Secaucus as it will be in ten years: every building that comes onto the campus joins the access layer, and every participant in it can reach your venue on equal terms.

Transparent, observable, in real time

Every equalized path is measured continuously, at sub-nanosecond resolution. One time domain across the campus, held within a nanosecond by Quincy Precision Time Exchange.

The venue sees every path, every measurement, and every change, as it happens. At the venue's option the same view is exposed to participants, so they can trust that access is measured consistently and independently, and to regulators and oversight bodies, who get evidence that is precise, auditable, and independent of self-reported data.

Need resilient, traceable, high precision clocks for your venue? Quincy Precision Time Exchange is the same time domain, available on its own.

Designed for everyone at the table

For venues

Meet fair access obligations, evidence compliance, and end disputes about connectivity and latency without changing your market model, topology, or participant rules. Retire the capital tied up in spools and the cost of periodic audits.

For participants

Every participant is treated equally, measured consistently and independently at the precision modern trading demands. New customers, late to the game, are not disadvantaged by geography: they can step into useful space and power immediately. Growing? Grow without the risk of inequity.

For regulators

Evidence-based views of market access: precise, auditable, reproducible, and independent of self-reported data.

Economical by design

Priced competitively with ordinary fiber spooling, with more observability and more flexibility. Equalized Access is not a standalone product looking for margin. It is an extension of the transport and connectivity McKay Brothers already operates across the campus, offered to the marketplace so venues can grow access without growing inequity.

See it on the campus

A gateway, a cage, and a campus. Watch the boundary of equal access grow with the buildings, measured at every step.

On the data side

Quincy Fabric is the distribution face of the same boundary: licensed data released simultaneously to every participant, everywhere. Equalized Access is the access layer underneath it. Quincy Fabric
